A Dream-Hunter book featuring a hero as tormented as Acheron!

The illegitimate son of the Egyptian god Set and a human, Seth was left in the desert to die as a child by his mother. He’s immortal though, so just spent days of torture under the blazing sun before being taken in by a Were-Hunter jackal pack, who treated him as family. Then they sold him into slavery to Noir, the cruel ruler of Azmodea, a dimension of Hell. For thousands of years, Seth has had the humanity tortured out of him by Noir, who assigns him a new task. Torture Solin, a Dream-Hunter, to get him to reveal the location of the key to Mt Olympus.

Lydia is Solin’s daughter, and travels to Azmodea to rescue him. A Dream-Hunter/Were-Hunter jackal, she has powers far beyond typical Dream-Hunters. A mixture of smart-ass, warrior, and temptress, Lydia becomes Seth’s prisoner while he tortures her father. She spends time with Seth and see’s the man behind the mask of Noir’s Guardian. Convinced he’s worth saving, Lydia sets out to free him from Noir’s command.

Many different storylines from previous books/other series are brought together in this story. The split between the god/desses on Olympus plays a part and the Egyptian pantheon plays a bigger part than before. We find out more about the history of the Malachai and Nick Gaultier’s role in Noir’s plot to take over the world. Most of the action takes place in Azmodea, with a brief stop in Sanctuary. Zarek makes an appearance, as do Delphine and Jericho.

This is a great paranormal romance with lots of plot twists and turns, thrilling action, and a tormented hero who gets his HEA. This can be read as a stand-alone, it’s a very entertaining and enjoyable read, though you might not get every nuance of what’s going on. If you’re a fan of the Dark-Hunter/Dream-Hunter/Nick Chronicle’s world, you must READ THIS BOOK!!!!!
